Warren's Walk About Tour

Tour departs at 9 a.m. at the foot of Yonge Street (Yonge Street Quay) at 1 Yonge Street, across the calm waters of Lake Ontario.  Look for the blue signage, Tdot Water Taxi.  As we approach the island, you will be able to see the stunning skyline of Toronto in the background.

The first leg of the Boat trip will take you to Ward's Island where we will do a 2.4 km walk that will cover both residential areas on Ward's Island and Algonquin Island. You will take a stroll through the beautiful and peaceful oasis that is perfect for a relaxing break from the hustle and bustle of city life.  The boat will then depart from Algonquin Island and take a 10-minute trip to the Island's only Church, St. Andrew's On the Lake on Centre Island.   As we explore the park, Warren will share some interesting facts about the history and culture of the islands.  From the Historic Church, we'll take a 3 km walk that will cover most of Centre Island.  Warren will lead you through a leisurely walk to explore the various sights and attractions that the islands have to offer. From here we'll depart from Olympic Island on the boat for a fulsome Lagoon tour featuring Hanlan's Point.  Upon exiting Block House Bay, we'll then depart back home to the starting point at the Yonge St Quay slip.  The finishing time will be approximately 11:30 am.

Throughout the tour, Warren will share fascinating stories and anecdotes about the islands, providing insights that you won't find in any guidebook. This tour is an excellent way to discover the natural beauty and rich history of Toronto Islands.

Hello

My name is Warren Hoselton

I'm pleased to be your tour guide for Toronto Island Discovery Tour Guide.

I recently retired after 40 years from the City of Toronto in to Parks Department.  Fun fact: I have been the longest serving Parks Supervisor on Toronto Island, so I know where all the bulbs are buried.

Join my exclusive Warren's Walk About and Boat About tour, where I will give you an insiders peek at the history/heritage/flora and fauna, as well as many of my personal observations and experiences on this jewel-in-the-crown special park.

I often joke that there were days when I felt that I was cast into an “Andy from Mayberry” type role where I was tasked with balancing community and stakeholder issues with the broader operation of one of Toronto’s most popular parks.
